Dear
Friend,
Thanks for requesting this report. If you
’ve ever had any type of pain, auto
accident, work injury, physical ailment, or
thought about improving your overall health
and wellness, you’ve probably at one point
in your life, thought about seeing a
Chiropractor. Now, you may be at the point
where you’re ready to look into it, but you
still have some questions…is this you?
Maybe you’ve been to a Chiropractor before
and for some reason it didn’t work exactly
the way you wanted. Now you want to make sure
that this time around you do all you can to
make the right decision…is this you?
In any case...
|
If the
word “Chiropractic” has come
across your mind recently and
you still haven’t taken any
action for whatever reason, this
little report is well worth the
few minutes it will take to
read. |
As you probably know, Chiropractic is no
longer being associated just with just pain
relief. Many are seeing a Chiropractor for
everything from gaining more energy, losing
weight, relaxation, to improving overall
health and wellness.
Although Chiropractors don’t have to twist
your arm so much anymore about the
importance of Chiropractic, and even though
the majority of our nation is finally
realizing that Chiropractic is just as good
for overall health as it is to treat direct
pain or injuries, I felt that I had to write
this letter to address some important issues
for anyone that is considering choosing a
Chiropractor. Many choose wrongly and suffer
for it physically, mentally and financially.
My name is Dr. Smith and yes, I am a
Chiropractor. However, I’m not writing this
primarily to persuade you on becoming a fan
of Chiropractic. I simply want to give you a
few tips to consider as you make your
decision to try Chiropractic or as you find
a doctor that is a correct “fit” for you .
The things you’re about to read
probably have crossed your mind before, but
you may have never realized just how
significant they are in regard to making the
correct choice and working with a Chiropractor
that is right for you.
My goal is, that after reading this, you’ll
be motivated enough to make your own
decision-but more than that, you’ll make the
correct decision and save yourself some pain
and suffering. I don’t mean to offend or to
take shots at any other doctors out there.
The reason why so many Chiropractors can
operate in such a small area or city is
because everyone has a particular “flavor”
(if you will) and certain people gel with certain
personalities better than others.
I believe, with that in mind, that the
following content will address a common
denominator regardless of what type of
personality profile you fit.
Frankly..
|
The following
mistakes must be avoided
regardless of what doctor you
choose. |
With that said, regardless of why you’ve
chose to come to this website, you’re about
to get a serious “heads up” as you begin
your quest for a Chiropractor. It’s not as
easy as you think. Not only must you dot
your “i"’s and cross your "t"s, but you need
to have yourself mentally prepared also.
Otherwise you will waste valuable time,
effort and money in your quest for physical
improvement. Unfortunately many mistakes
cannot be undone. Hopefully this report will
prevent you from making them before it’s too
late.
Let’s get right to it and discuss the first
mistake people make when choosing a
Chiropractor.
The number one mistake people make is they
don’t properly identify “why” they want to
see a Chiropractor. Yes, that’s right,
“why”? Why are you considering a
Chiropractor? Don’t get me wrong, many visit
the Chiropractic office with a definite goal
in mind…such as the patient who says “help
me relieve this pain!”
And that’s fine. Unfortunately, some people
finally discover that their reason for
becoming a patient isn’t the same reason
they began with.
You may be considering a Chiropractor
because of an ever present ailment or pain.
Or, maybe because after trying everything
else, nothing worked: pain meds, surgery;
fitness, etc. Nothing seems to give you what
you’re looking for. Then, all of a sudden,
out of nowhere someone says, “Hey…have you
thought about seeing a Chiropractor…it
really changed my life!”
Then, as a last resort, you say “What the
heck!”. You make an appointment. After your
first visit you say what most do after
they’ve lived in pain for such a long time…why
didn’t someone tell me about this sooner!!
Then, once the pain is treated and gone…you
realize Chiropractic isn’t just for pain,
it’s necessary for so much more. There’s
true wellness, overall body health, physical
appearance, maintenance and so much more.
Someone once said, “My people perish for
lack of knowledge.” For Chiropractic this
can also be said. “My patients live in pain
for a lack of knowledge” would say many
Chiropractors.
Without the knowledge of how your body
works, and without doing the right
maintenance, you body actually will
perish much quicker. It breaks down and
starts to “misfire” if you will, and atrophy
even, because things aren’t aligned and
working correctly...
|
...The
problem is you don’t realize
this until it’s too late. Once a
Chiropractor explains this to
the average patient, they’re
blown away. It makes so much
sense... |
They never realize how they lived without
taking advantage of the most effective way
to heal, maintain, and energize the human
body. Not to mention how they fell prey to
the fallacies about Chiropractic. What a
tragedy when people think it is just
for pain and only pain relief.
That is the first mistake people make…they
come to a Chiropractor with a closed mind.
The “please make me feel better quickly” mindset is
all they see.
Instead, when choosing a Chiropractor, they
should realize that he or she has trained
for years on the human body and may have
---just maybe---have some solutions to
other problems they never knew they had.
How about you? Can you be open minded? Of
course you can. Be open minded and let your
Chiropractor explain to you all the amazing
health and wellness benefits to Chiropractic
lifestyle…it’s not just to relieve pain,
it’s to eliminate it! On to the next
mistake…
Second mistake people make when choosing a
Chiropractor is they think with their wallet
instead of with their mind. Money, money,
money. Don’t get me wrong, Chiropractic,
like all professional medical attention,
costs money. However, many times temporary
money worries get in the way of improving
ones health and even adding years to their
life.
Not to mention most insurance covers the
cost of Chiropractic care and allows for
many types of treatment, many never think
that these things are covered. And of course
most doctors allow payment plans if you pay
cash.
You must realize that the one thing that
really separates most Chiropractors from
some other
professions is they truly love what they do.
They’ve dreamed many of nights about helping
people the natural way and although you may
have come across some unprofessional doctors
in your life, give your local Chiropractor a
chance regardless of whether or not you feel
you can afford it right now. Nothing is more
valuable and important than your health.
Even if you think you may not be able to
afford it, go in for your free consultation
and ask about all the payment options
available. However, after all that is said,
saying you can’t afford Chiropractic,
for most people living in America, is
probably an exaggeration…even if the patient
had to pay for everything themselves.
|
Here's why
no one can use the "no money"
excuse anymore... |
Here are some crazy facts. The average person in America spends $5-10
per day on stuff that tears down their
health; soda, fast food, movies, cigarettes,
alcohol, etc, etc. Even a slight cut back on
these items leaves plenty enough for a few
Chiropractic visits. (Think about that and
analyze what you spend on unaccountable
items each day that actually tear down your
health.)
Number three….The third mistake people make
when choosing a Chiropractor is they let
other people make the decision for them
rather than looking at the facts first for
themselves. It’s funny but if you asked the
average person who makes their decisions,
they first thing they say…"I make all of my
decisions myself!”
However, once you dig deeper and ask them to
make a commitment to something like
Chiropractic, they want to check with every
person under the sun before they commit.
What I mean is they ask everyone and their
brother about how they feel about
Chiropractic first. And this is okay. You
should ask around and get the opinions of
your friends and family.
However, do your own research about
Chiropractic and then use your friends and
family to help you find a good Chiropractor
if they can recommend one.
But don’t let them talk you out of trying
Chiropractic treatment because of some
preconceived notion they have. Sometimes people talk
without knowing all the facts.
They “heard” Chiropractic is “this”, or they
heard Chiropractic is “that”. Do the
research for yourself. One fallacy about
Chiropractic that seems to have been
floating around since the beginning is that
Chiropractors aren’t as educated as other
doctors. This is a total untruth. Many
ask...
|
"How can I
be sure my Chiropractor will
know what he or she is doing?" |
Here's why...educational requirements for
doctors of Chiropractic are among the most
stringent of any of the health care
professions!
The typical applicant at a Chiropractic
college has already acquired nearly four
years of pre-medical undergraduate college
education, including courses in biology,
inorganic and organic chemistry, physics,
psychology and related lab work.
Once accepted into an accredited
chiropractic college, the requirements
become even more demanding — four to five
academic years of professional study are the
standard. Because of the hands-on nature of
Chiropractic, and the intricate adjusting
techniques, a significant portion of time is
spent in clinical training.
Don't forget...they're "doctors". Doctors of
Chiropractic undergo a rigorous education in
the healing sciences, similar to that of
medical doctors. In some areas, such as
anatomy, physiology, and rehabilitation,
they receive more intensive education than
most medical doctors or physical
therapists.
Before they are allowed to practice, doctors
of chiropractic must pass national board
examinations and become state-licensed.
Chiropractors are among the most educated
doctors in the world!
And best
of all…they treat you naturally. And even
better…Chiropractic is proven to
work!! Listen to what the research has
shown…
Chiropractic
Comes out on Top For Acute and Chronic Pain:
“Patients with chronic low-back pain treated
by chiropractors showed greater improvement
and satisfaction at one month than patients
treated by family physicians. Satisfaction
scores were higher for chiropractic
patients. A higher proportion of
chiropractic patients (56 percent vs. 13
percent) reported that their low-back pain
was better or much better, whereas nearly
one-third of medical patients reported their
low-back pain was worse or much worse.”
Nyiendo et al
(2000), Journal of Manipulative and
Physiological Therapeutics
"In a
Randomized controlled trial, 183 patients
with neck pain were randomly allocated to
manual therapy (spinal mobilization),
physiotherapy (mainly exercise) or general
practitioner care (counseling, education and
drugs) in a 52-week study. The clinical
outcomes measures showed that manual therapy
resulted in faster recovery than
physiotherapy and general practitioner care.
Moreover, total costs of the manual
therapy-treated patients were about
one-third of the costs of physiotherapy or
general practitioner care."
Korthals-de
Bos et al (2003), British Medical Journal
In Comparison to Other Treatment
Alternatives Chiropractic Wins Again!
“Acute and chronic chiropractic patients
experienced better outcomes in pain,
functional disability, and patient
satisfaction; clinically important
differences in pain and disability
improvement were found for chronic
patients.”
Haas et al
(2005), Journal of Manipulative and
Physiological Therapeutics
“In our randomized, controlled trial, we
compared the effectiveness of manual
therapy, physical therapy, and continued
care by a general practitioner in patients
with nonspecific neck pain. The success rate
at seven weeks was twice as high for the
manual therapy group (68.3 percent) as for
the continued care group (general
practitioner). Manual therapy scored better
than physical therapy on all outcome
measures. Patients receiving manual therapy
had fewer absences from work than patients
receiving physical therapy or continued
care, and manual therapy and physical
therapy each resulted in statistically
significant less analgesic use than
continued care.”
Hoving et al
(2002), Annals of Internal Medicine
Chiropractic Destroys Headaches
“Cervical spine manipulation was associated
with significant improvement in headache
outcomes in trials involving patients with
neck pain and/or neck dysfunction and
headache.”
Duke Evidence
Report, McCrory, Penzlen, Hasselblad, Gray
(2001)
“The results of this study show that spinal
manipulative therapy is an effective
treatment for tension headaches. . . Four
weeks after cessation of treatment . . . the
patients who received spinal manipulative
therapy experienced a sustained therapeutic
benefit in all major outcomes in contrast to
the patients that received amitriptyline
therapy, who reverted to baseline values.” ‘
Journal
of Manipulative and Physiological
Therapeutics, Boline et al. (1995)
Chiropractic is
Cost Effective!
“Chiropractic care appeared relatively
cost-effective for the treatment of chronic
low-back pain. Chiropractic and medical care
performed comparably for acute patients.
Practice-based clinical outcomes were
consistent with systematic reviews of spinal
manipulative efficacy: manipulation-based
therapy is at least as good as and, in some
cases, better than other therapeusis.”
Haas
et al (2005), Journal of Manipulative and
Physiological Therapeutics
Chiropractic Patients are More Satisfied!
“Chiropractic patients were found to be more
satisfied with their back care providers
after four weeks of treatment than were
medical patients. Results from observational
studies suggested that back pain patients
are more satisfied with chiropractic care
than with medical care. Additionally,
studies conclude that patients are more
satisfied with chiropractic care than they
were with physical therapy after six weeks.”
Hertzman-Miller
et al (2002), American Journal of Public
Health
Popularity of Chiropractic Grows Daily!
“Chiropractic is the largest, most
regulated, and best recognized of the
complementary and alternative medicine (CAM)
professions. CAM patient surveys show that
chiropractors are used more often than any
other alternative provider group and patient
satisfaction with chiropractic care is very
high. There is steadily increasing patient
use of chiropractic in the United States,
which has tripled in the past two decades.”
Meeker,
Haldeman (2002), Annals of Internal Medicine
You see, Chiropractic is much more effective
and popular than many people think. I can go
on forever with statistics and research.
When you do the research and you find the
truth!
With all that said, you still have the
"human" factor...I'm referring to the fact
that change is uncomfortable. Even with
facts and proof, our mind or body still
seems to make room for the excuses.
Sometimes, we even look for people to talk
to that we know will “talk us out of” a
decision we know we must make. Please
consider these things. Okay, now to the next
mistake you have to watch out for…
|
"This
tragic mistake has two parts,
equally harmful when
overlooked..." |
...The first is when people “over commit” to
Chiropractic without first doing anything.
They become fed up with their pain or
problem and say “that’s it” I’m doing it!”
And that’s good. But they over commit.
Like many sporadic exercisers at the turn of
the New Year that enroll in a fitness
center-they change their
eating, they start to cut out all the fatty
foods and begin a huge exercise program only
to crash after a few weeks from burn out!
There’s a good adage that goes something
like this…”Always under-promise and over
deliver”. This is a great saying for an
employee or business owner. However, it’s
also good for you when making your initial
commitment to Chiropractic.
Don’t overload yourself with huge plan. Take
a small step. Also don’t bombard yourself
with a tremendous barrage of “what ifs”.
“What if I go to the Chiropractor and…” Or
“What if” that. Forget all the “what ifs”.
If your going to swallow an elephant, do it
one bite at a time.
Take a small step, visit a Chiropractor and
let them do their evaluation before you
worry about the “what ifs” or you make your
big plans.
| "Here's why some don't
trust the Chiropractor..." |
The second part to this mistake is that
people don’t trust the Chiropractor; and
it's not the Chiropractor's fault. Some
people just think that they are more
informed and prefer to steer the ship.
They don’t like the idea of anyone, even a
Chiropractor that "they" are coming to, to
evaluate them and make the plan. Rather
“they” want to go in with a plan, even
though it may not fit what the Chiropractor
(the professional) finds after the examination. This is a
prescription for disaster.
When this happens, the patient leaves
questioning the accuracy of the prognosis because they were
not open minded in the first place. Remember
this…“Go as far as you can see and when you
get there, you’ll be able to see further.”
Keep your first appointment in mind and make
that your only commitment and focus for now.
Just go and wait until you get your
evaluation results to ask all the questions.
Simply answer the questions that you’re
asked and let the doctor earn their pay! And
once they begin- trust them.
Many times, people want to commit to
something without trusting in the expert
that’s guiding them. This always leads to
failure. Don’t be a backseat driver in the
Chiropractor’s office. All relationships
must have trust as the glue that holds them
together.
Find a doctor that you like, one that is
convenient, has a good reputation, make the
appointment, show up and then do what they
say! Over committing and not trusting are
both very big mistakes.
|
"The 5th
and final mistake is such a
biggie, that I believe it's deep
rooted into more than just
failing to choose the right
Chiropractor..." |
The fifth and final mistake is a such a
biggie, that I believe it’s the main reason
why people not only fail at Chiropractic,
but it’s usually at the core of most
failures in life. It’s a little 15 letter
word called “procrastination”.
Let’s look at the definition…
Procrastination: To put off doing something,
especially out of habitual carelessness or
laziness. To postpone or delay needlessly.
Latin: pro: means “forward” . Crastinus
means “of tomorrow”
Procrastination in plain English is the art
of putting off today what we think we can do
tomorrow. I say the “art” because we get
skilled at it. We make it seem like there’s
actually a real justification for putting
off doing something but really, we just
don’t want to do it. It’s an art if I ever
saw one.
The terrible thing is that the “art of
putting off”, turns into a curse because all
those “tomorrows” keep piling up, and
eventually, this leads to anxiety and even
depression. It’s no surprise that studies
show that procrastination leads to
depression and even family problems.
Procrastination is a sneaky enemy. It sneaks
up on you in the appearance of reason and
logic. You know the story. “I haven’t
joined the gym because I just don’t have the
time right now, but as soon as I get the
time, I’m going to get down there and begin
my exercise program. I don’t want to be
irrational and schedule something until I
get the time…”
As you know, the “time” never mystical
appears. It’s made and created by the person
based on the priority of the circumstance.
As a matter of fact, any normal person sees
that we typically have less and less time.
You may say, what does this have to do with
choosing a Chiropractor?
Very much does it have to do with it!
For once, you can’t wait for everything to
be perfect to make your first appointment or
to begin looking for a Chiropractor. You
can’t wait for “all the lights to be on
green to begin your drive through town." It
just won’t happen.
For instance, you can’t wait until you have
the time, the money, until you find the
perfect doctor, or until you have the
motivation. As a matter of fact, motivation
is the biggest reason for procrastination.
Coincidentally, there is no “perfect”
situation. Many procrastinate waiting for it
and suffer greatly as a result.
Many people have a false notion about
motivation too. They think that once the
“motive” or desire to go to a Chiropractor
gets strong enough, then they’ll get
“motivated”. Not true. Only when you take
the “Action” does motivation come. It’s
“motion” before “emotion”. It’s “action”
before “motivation”. Take the action and the
motivation will come.
The biggest threat of procrastination is not
just the depression or feeling of failure it
brings…in the case of Chiropractic it’s
worse…it’s physical too.
|
"Many
problems and ailments could have
been avoided if the person just
did this a little sooner..." |
The longer you wait, the worse your physical
condition gets. I can’t tell you how many
times I’ve seen situations where many
problems and ailments could have been
avoided if the person just took the action
sooner and stopped making all the excuses
sooner. And that’s what really
procrastination is…different variations of
excuses.
With all that said, let me ask you…is your
health, wellness, or pain relief important
to you? If it is, what’s been stopping you
from making the commitment to at least visit
a Chiropractor for an evaluation.
I know Chiropractic can help you, but I
can’t come to your house and examine you…you
must make the commitment and take action.
You have to eliminate any procrastination
and make an appointment with a Chiropractor!
Forget risking making any of these mistakes,
especially the last one. The good thing is
you took some action by requesting and
reading this report. That’s good. That’s a
start. But let me ask…do you feel any better
physically or mentally since you read this
report? Nope. You need to actually go to a
Chiropractor for that! ;-)
Seriously, your health and life is too
important to put this off any longer. I hope
you at least allow someone to help. It’s
correct to say that I would welcome the
opportunity to give you a free consultation.
But if it’s not our clinic, at least choose
a Chiropractor elsewhere.
Maybe you’re reading this and you’re not in
our area, or you live too far from our
office. That’s fine, open the phone book or
ask around, but go to someone. I am not only
a doctor, but as you can see an advocate of
Chiropractic for all people.
|
"If you do
live in our area, here's what
I'm thinking..." |
...And I’ll make this a real no brainer for
you. (As a matter of fact, if you resist
this, you’ll really have a hard time
explaining this away as a true excuse)…I
would like to offer you a totally free
consultation/examination. That’s
right…totally free.
You don’t have to pay anything, and there’s
no obligation either. Meaning, your not
going to come in and then have someone tell
you it’s only free if…. Your consultation is
free no matter what, even if you decide to
never step foot in our office ever again.
My goal is to make this first step easy for
you. To get you to come in and have you and
I talk about what’s been going on. I’ll show
you and explain to you exactly how
Chiropractic can help your specific
situation, how long it will take to start
seeing results and then the ball will be in
your court.
We’ll tell you everything you need to know
about what symptoms you’re having and give
you all the information you need to make a
smart decision. Even if you just want to do
preventive maintenance, I’ll show how many
like you are living happier, healthier and
longer lives because they incorporated
Chiropractic into their lifestyle.
In pain? Not only will you eliminate pain,
but you’ll know for sure you’re getting to
the core of the problem. Meds, surgery, drugs,
pain killers, etc, simple numb your pain and
avoid fixing the problem. Say goodbye to
quick fixes . You’ll know that you’re taking
the best care of the best gift that you
have-your body and your health.
Don’t procrastinate with your heath. There’s
probably still time in your situation but I
can’t guarantee it. Take a second and
complete the form below and we’ll set aside
some time for you to come in and get checked
out right away.
Thanks for reading this report. Hope it
helped and brings you a step closer to
feeling better and getting your situation
taken care of. Got questions? Complete the
form below and we’ll be happy to answer them
either via email or when we set up your
appointment.
Thanks again,
Dr. Smith
PS. Remember, procrastination in plain
English is the art of putting off today what
we think we can do tomorrow. I say the “art”
because we get skilled at it. We make it
seem like there’s actually a real
justification for putting off doing
something but really, we just don’t want to
do it. Don’t put this off. You’ve came this
far. You’re one step away from making the
next step. Complete the form and get your
free consultation/ examination today.
